My husband is a kind and loving man. Unfortunately, we have not been able to have any child for the past five years of our married life. Although we have gone through several medical tests, it was only a few months ago that I stumbled on his medical file and discovered that his sperm is too low to father a child. I urgently need a baby but I don’t want to commit adultery. Kindly advise

I am glad that you want to be faithful to your husband despite your current challenges with infertility. Having identified the problem, you will need to encourage your husband to seek medical attention since a low sperm situation can always be treated. If this is not possible, both of you can consider the use of a sperm donor or in-vitro fertilization. These facilities are available in some fertility centres and Teaching Hospitals in the country. Adoption through some agencies and Ministry of Women Affairs in your locality is also a possibility. Whatever you do, it is always good to be patient since many long- standing cases of infertility have had happy endings.
