Proponents of the planned protest against economic hardship in the country have again been called upon to embrace dialogue and constructive engagement in tackling the present travails in the country.
The National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO) made this call in a statement in Abuja signed by the president, Sani Suleiman Maigoro, and secretary general, Mas’ud Akintola.
NACOMYO noted that a lot of the needs of the masses are not yet met by the present government, with hunger and insecurity being the order of the day, but it expressed fear that fifth columnists might hijack the protest to cause chaos in the land.
The apex Muslim youth organisation appealed to the citizenry to explore alternative means to convey their grievances to the government, urging the organisers of the proposed protest to learn from the unpleasant outcomes of derailed past public demonstrations.
“Youths should consider our present travails as a test from the Almighty and be civil in presenting their demands to the government,” the NACOMYO stated.
