Disclosing this on Saturday at a special event organized to honour 22 staff for outstanding performance, Dr. Muhammad added that the hospital offers antenatal services to over 450 women as well as over 7,000 outpatients’ cases daily.
According to him, the event was organised to appreciate and acknowledge hardworking staff who performed wonderfully in improving quality service delivery in the hospital.
Mr Hussaini traced the history of the hospital, saying it was established in 1926 with 15 bed capacity, but now it has about 10,000 beds.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner for Health, Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, noted that the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital is the largest public hospital in Sub-Saharan Africa.
