WIFE of the governor of Lagos State and chairman, Committee of the Wives of Lagos State Officials, COWLSO, Mrs Bolanle Ambode, said on Wednesday that this year’s National Women’s Conference, the 17th in the series, to be declared open by Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, wife of Vice- President Yemi Osinbajo, would focus on the ingenuity of women as innovators and solution providers.
Mrs Ambode made this known while interacting with newsmen at Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, disclosing that the event slated to hold at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island between Tuesday, October 24 and 26, 2017 has as its theme: ‘She Creates, She Transforms.’
According to her, the conference theme is expected to focus on the ingenuity of the Nigerian women in the pursuit of innovative and practical solutions, adding it was aimed at allowing them to achieve sustainable development within their immediate sphere and community at large.
“You will agree with me that women are uniquely created, endowed with skills and blessed with creativity. As helpmates, we care for the family and impact our immediate environment positively. The woman out of very little creates; transforms the little created to something bigger and better. Our transformation efforts extend to all facets of human engagement,” she said.
Speaking further, Mrs Ambode said the conference, which would be declared closed by Adamawa State governor, Bindo Jibrilla, would have of Adamawa State would have seasoned facilitators treat topics such as ‘Women in Agriculture- A Pathway to Development;’ ‘Networking, Etiquette;’ ‘Building a Better World and Financing Options for Businesses,’ among others.
Giving breakdown side attractions lined up for the conference, Mrs Ambode said brand new cars, among other tempting prices would be won at Raffle draw slated to hold at the Gala Night on day 11 of the programme.
Other highlights of the conference according to her include, the presentation of the ‘Inspirational Woman of the Year Award’ and certificates of appreciation to notable individuals and corporate recipients.
