Motorcycle snatcher, three others nabbed for robbery, murder in Anambra

MotorcycleOPERATIVES of Special Anti Cult unit of the Anambra State Police Command, at the weekend, arrested one Chidioke Chinedu ‘m’ aged 22 years of Enugu Ukwu in Njikoka LGA of Anambra State, who allegedly specialises in motorcycle theft, across the state.

The Police Public Relation Officer PPRO, of the Command SP Haruna Mohammed who disclosed the arrest in a press statement, said the suspect was arrested with a stolen motorbike which himself and his gang members still at large previously robbed from their victim.

And that case under investigation and effort is ongoing to apprehend other fleeing accomplices in order to bring them to Justice.

Also in the statement, SP Mohammed, said at about 4 am, following intelligence report, Police operatives attached to Federal Special Anti-robbery Squad (FSARS) Akwuzu, arrested three suspected armed robbers/murderers, one Chimezie Aronu ‘m’ aged 22 years, Uchenna Obiora ‘m’ aged 18 years and, Chibuike Omankwu ‘m’ aged 20 years at Ire village, Ogidi in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State for allegedly robbed and killed one Ifeanyi Nwanga in ifite dunu at about 4:30 pm with gun.

According to him, the three suspects have confessed to the crime and also led the Police to the place where they hide the weapon used in perpetrating the dastardly act.

Exhibit recovered from the suspects include one cut to size single barrel gun and one cartridge.

The case is under investigation after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution, the statement said.
