THE Minister of Interior, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, has stressed the need for proper biometric capturing of Nigerians and migrants with the view to ensuring effective internal security and socio-economic development of the country.
Aregbesola said this in his office in Abuja when he received the management of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre led by its Director-General, Major-General G.A. Wahab (retd).
He emphasised that civilisation and infrastructural development could only take place when there is adequate security.
“Without security in place, there can’t be any meaningful infrastructural development in any society; we need peace for development, recreation and our general well-being is dependent on security,” he said.
The minister said that the presence of the resource centre in Nigeria was an indication that Nigeria is a serious nation.
