Man rapes,murders elder brother’s wife in Zamfara

Police in Zamfara state has arrested a middle-aged man, Aminu Bala, who allegedly raped and the murdered his elder brother’s wife, Mallam Hauwau Iliyasu in her matrimonial home.

Confirming the incident today in Gusau, the Zamfara State police command Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu, revealed that the suspect confessed to have raped the housewife and killed her after the act.

According to PPRO “On June 15, 2020, a report was received by the police that a housewife, Hauwau Iliyasu, 25, a resident of Damba area, was raped and killed”

Police, after receiving the information, rushed to the scene and met the victim in a pool of her own blood.

“We met her body butchered with a machete which we took to the Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau where she was confirmed dead by the authority.”

The police disclosed that they immediately went to interview neighbours of the deceased,” we swung into action and the suspect was arrested in the state.

He maintained that on interrogation, the suspect who is a biological brother to the husband of the deceased confessed to having raped and murdered the housewife.
