The Olugbon of Orile-Igbon in Surulere Local Government Area of Oyo State, Oba Francis Olusola Alao, has faulted the statement made by the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, that the Western Nigerian Security Network codenamed Amotekun is illegal.
Olugbon said that the statement is discriminatory, insulting to the sensitivity of southwest governors and the Yoruba race.
This is coming as controversies continue to trail the recently launched security outfit initiated by the six governors from the south-west zone.

The monarch, in a chat with Tribune Online, cautioned the Federal Government not to toy with the security of lives and property of the people in the region, maintaining that establishing such outfit by the six state governors shows ineptitude of the federal security agencies to save the region from its security challenges.
He charged the six governors of the zone to work out legal framework to give Amotekun structural base for its operations through various State Houses of Assembly as quick as possible.
“I laud our six governors for their brave determination to rescue our region from shackles of insecurity. Amotekun has come to stay and no going back; simply, no retreat no surrender.
“I will advise all southwest state governments to work out a legal framework to give Amotekun structural base for its operations through various state assemblies as quickly as possible,” Oba Alao stated.
