Lions Club Int’l boosts business, other activities with 2026 Ajorosun Convention in Ibadan

Lions Club International has said its 2026 Ajorosun Convention, which began on Thursday in Ibadan, is expected to boost business and economic activities in the city.

The District Governor of District 404B3, Adelaja Adeleye, said the event would attract participants from different locations, creating opportunities for local businesses, especially within the hospitality sector.

According to him, “Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs especially those in the hospitality industry would experience higher patronage as members would be coming from far and near.

“Also, interesting members will seize the opportunity to visit some historical places within and outside the state. This in turn will generate more income to the coffer of the state.”

Adeleye added that the organisation remains committed to human capacity building and corporate social responsibility through projects carried out within and beyond Ibadan.

He noted that the theme of the joint convention, “Bonding for Humanity,” reflects the organisation’s focus on unity and service.

“This convention is a clear demonstration of collaboration, shared vision, and collective commitment to humanitarian service. We sincerely appreciate the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, for providing an enabling environment that supports peace, development, and meaningful engagements.

“We also pay our respects to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, whose leadership and cultural heritage continue to give Ibadan its pride of place.”

He explained that AJOROSUN 2026 is a joint effort between Districts 404B2 and 404B3, adding, “AJOROSUN 2026 is the result of a strong partnership between Districts 404B2 and 404B3. I therefore specially appreciate the leadership of District 404B2, ably led by District Governor Lion Oluwakemi Eribake, for her cooperation and commitment in making this joint convention a reality.

“Over the next few days, we have lined up engaging and impactful programmes and activities for our great and wonderful Lions ranging from leadership development and plenary sessions to fellowship and service-focused engagements, aimed at strengthening our bonds and expanding our impact on humanity.

“I commend the Local Organising Committee and all sub-committees for their dedication and hard work, which have brought us to this moment.”
