As part of its effort to make life meaningful, Likeminds Fetal Hospital, on Wednesday, provided free medical outreach to residents of Ibadan in Oyo State.

Hundreds of Ibadan residents were beneficiaries of blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, women’s health, weight, fertility, preventive medicine, healthy living and stress management, among others.

The one-day medical outreach organised by Likeminds Hospital was part of the post humous 50th year birthday celebration of the founder, Dr Michael Bashorun.

Speaking at the event, wife of the founder and CEO of Likeminds, Mrs Ibironke Bashorun said the programme was one of the projects to celebrate the late founder and move on his legacy to cater for the health of people.

“My late husband always cared for people. He always reached out to everyone, rendering an helping hand and supproting. So to celebrate his birthday, we planned this medical outreach to help people healthwise.

“This is our own way of helping and supporting, and helping the less privileged, thereby putting a smile on the faces of people.

“We believe this is a very unique opportunity to render help to people as there are so many people who don’t go for regular check ups, thereby putting themselves in danger one way or the other.

In another development, CEO of Likeminds, Mrs Ibironke Bashorun and some staff of the hospital visited the Graceful Heritage Care Services, a private home for the elderly.

Speaking on the outreach to the home, Mrs Bashorun appreciated the efforts of the management and staff of the home, saying “it’s never an easy business taking care of the elderly.

“You’re doing well. Looking at the way you take care of everyone, you’re really doing well. This was one of my late husband’s areas. He really cared about reaching out to the older ones.

“He spent a lot of time visiting homes like this. This was one of the very dear and important things to him. I recall him spending a lot og time caring for people. So i believe he would love to be celebrated this way,” she said.

On her part, director and care home manager of the Graceful heritage Care Serives home, Sola Adebiyi, appreciated the efforts and support from the members and staff of the hospital.

She said, “We started 3 years ago, and to the glory of God it has been an amazing journey. God has been faithful. I really this outreach to our home today. You have really done well, and i know that the late founder would be very proud.”
