Let God arise…(IV)

Published by

Even though we have been taught that God has ultimate power over anything that may challenge us, what we see around sometimes tends to make us despair.

When evil people prosper, and it appears as if good people will continue to suffer endlessly, this can breed frustration for the good person. It happened to the children of Israel.

See what the prophet Malachi wrote:

Malachi 3:13–15: Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee? Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts? And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered.

The people murmured because the wicked enjoyed while good people suffered. However, God answered this complaint in the same breath. In Malachi 4:1–3, God assured that a day would come when all proud and wicked people shall be dealt with. In fact, He said that they shall be consumed by fire, meaning that they shall be destroyed permanently.

He said that nothing shall remain of them; that He shall leave them neither root nor branch. While that is going on, God promised healing and growth to those who fear His name. He promised that on that day, the wicked shall be under the soles of the feet of the righteous.

So, what are you passing through presently?

Does it appear as if wicked or evil people are gaining ascendancy around you? Be encouraged, and keep praying and trusting God. Do not despair. Let your faith in God soar despite the challenges. Pray that God should arise on your behalf. Interestingly, you have many precedents that you can cite or draw inspiration from for your prayers. God has arisen on behalf of His elect in similar ways before. Examples include:

  • Sarah, Hannah: God arose to roll away barrenness and shame.
  • Joseph, David: God arose to promote His elects and to launch them into destiny.
  • Nehemiah, Israel: God arose to deliver the individual, family or nation from slavery.
  • Job, Josiah, Samson: God arose to restore personal glory or family inheritance.
  • Mordecai, Daniel, Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego: God arose to rescue from death.
  • Lazarus: God arose to raise from the dead.
  • Shunamite woman, the crippled man at the Beautiful Gate: God arose to give blessings that man cannot give.

Whatever may be your present challenge, believe God for divine intervention.

Know that God has done it before; He will do it again, and you shall rejoice. He says today is a day of divine visitation. God will arise and attend to your case. Even if yours is a desperate situation, and it is as if God is already late, the Lord says to you today.
