A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Goddy Francis Okoyo, has called on Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora to imbibe the culture of appreciating their leaders in the country rather than castigating them all the time.
Okoyo, a Canadian-based Chartered Account who stated this while speaking to Tribune Online recently said that like the former governor of Edo State and present Senator representing Edo North District in the National Assembly, Adams Oshiomhole and others deserve commendation for their contributions to the development of the country.
“Far away in Canada, where I live, Senator Oshiomhole’s exemplary leadership has really motivated me and many Nigerians in the diaspora, to come back home and contribute to the development of our people at home,” he said.
Okoyo opined that the Oshiomhole’s contribution to the developmental process in Edo State is unimaginable, stressing that the eight years administration of the senator ushered in great turnaround in the state especially in the area of good governance.
The Director of Diaspora Affairs, Edo State APC 2024 Governorship Campaign Council noted that “the victory of Oshiomhole in the 2006 election through a grim struggle and the people-oriented governance he gave to Edo, had brought about the “Change mantra’ that later became a popular motto in the country.”
