Kwara govt, TETFUND strengthen collaboration on education, others

Kwara State Government and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) have said that they are focused on strengthening collaboration in the areas of education, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.

Speaking with journalists when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in Ilorin, a
member of the Board of Trustees of the TETFUND, representing the North Central zone, Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, said that the present administration’s focus on inclusive education and innovation aligns with objectives of TETFUND in building resilient tertiary education institutions.

The visit came shortly after the conclusion of the latest TETFUND Board meeting.

During the engagement, Engineer Adeyemi commended Governor Abdulrazaq for his administration’s strides in infrastructure development and prioritization of education and human capital development.

He also hailed the establishment of the Kwara State University of Education, describing it as a landmark achievement that reflects the governor’s commitment to advancing teacher education and lifelong learning opportunities.

“As the North Central representative on the TETFUND Board, I find it important to acknowledge and support forward-thinking leadership such as that of Governor Abdulrazaq.

“His administration’s focus on inclusive education and innovation is commendable and aligns with the objectives of TETFUND in building resilient tertiary education institutions”.

Engineer Adeyemi reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that empower youth with digital literacy, tech skills, and entrepreneurial capacity to thrive in the knowledge economy.

He emphasized that sustainable development begins with equipping the next generation with tools to create, innovate, and lead.

In his response, Governor Abdulrazaq appreciated the visit and reaffirmed Kwara state’s readiness to work more closely with TETFUND and other relevant stakeholders to deliver high-impact projects that transform education outcomes across the state.

The meeting concluded with both parties emphasizing the need for sustained collaboration to achieve long-term goals in education, innovation, and community development across Kwara state and the North Central region.
