THE Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council, on Sunday, said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was not prepared and capable of conducting a free, fair and credible 2019 elections.
The council alleged that ballot papers and original result sheets of the election have been released to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The spokesman of the council 0in Kogi state, Austin Okai, said this following what he described as INEC compromise to rig the 2019 election in Kogi State, described Kogi INEC as a department of Kogi State Government House.
He said, “We have it on good authority that until the postponement Kogi INEC had given out ballot papers to the APC in the state through the state governor.
“We make bold to say that while INEC delivered the electoral materials to government house, where the governor also took the turn to hand them over to all the aspirants.
“A case in point was that of Kabba Bunu LGA where the materials were handed over to the house of representatives candidate for Kabba Bunu Ijumu federal constituency. We can reliably say that the ballot papers were thumb printed at a particular location in the GRA area of Kabba.
“Another case that needs to be brought to the attention of the public was the thumb printing of ballot papers in Ayetoro gbedde”.
The PDP PCC tasked INEC to show that it has the capacity to conduct a free, fair credible poll, saying the people of the state have lost confidence in the electoral body.
“Else how can one justify the fact that twelve boxes of ballot papers said to have been sent to Kabba Bunu local government area ended up with having only three genuine ballot boxes as authentic with the remaining nine ones made up of dummies and not ballot papers”, it said.
