The Wife of Kogi State governor, Hajia Rashida Bello has called on Nigerian women to continue to make positive contribution for development of humanity.
Hajia Rashida made the call when she played host to the Naval Officers Wives Association (NOWA) in her office in Lokoja.
She said as women and mothers, there is a need to continually make concerted efforts in instilling good values and morals in their families so as to have a better nation.
The Governor’s wife appreciated NOWA National President, Hajia Nana Aishatu Gambo, and her members for the visit noting that she was ready to collaborate with any individual or organisation in supporting the wellbeing of orphans, women and youths.
She also promised to support NOWA in providing boreholes in the remaining ten states having provided in twenty-six states of the federation.
Earlier, NOWA National President, Hajia Nana Aishatu Gambo who is also the wife of the Chief of Naval Staff said they were in the state to solicit the support of the wife of the Kogi state Governor, as the association alone can not meet the needs of women and youths in the barracks across the country.
She said the association had continued to empower women and youths as well as support orphanages in the country.
Hajia Gambo maintained that NOWA had contributed positively to the life and wellbeing of Nigerians by providing quality education, vocational training as well as economic empowerment for orphans, Widows, women and youths.
Hajia Gombo explained that the association had continued to empower women and youths as well as support orphanages in the country but needed the support of the states government to do more.
Hajia Gombo who is also the wife of the Chief of Naval Staff pointed out that NOWA had done remarkably in providing quality education, vocational training as well as empowerment for orphans, widows, and youths.
Highlight of the event was the visit of NOWA to some orphanages in Lokoja, where food items worth thousands of naira were donated.
