Kogi State House of Assembly has set up a 7-man Ad-hoc Committee to investigate the Shares of the State in the establishment of Dangote Cement and other Companies.
This followed a motion moved by the Speaker, Prince Matthew Kolawole on resumption of Plenary on Wednesday.
Prince Kolawole said despite the abundant natural resources in the State, it is still unclear the ratio of revenue accruing from companies operating in the State.
He noted that though investors are welcome to the State, Government will not fold its alms on non-payment of tax to the State by the Companies.
According to him, the move was not to witch-hunt anyone, but to ensure total compliance with State laws.
The Speaker then Set Up an Ad-Hoc Committee to Investigate State Shares in the Establishment of Dangote Cement, Other Companies
The Committee is to be chaired by Musa Tenimu, while Cosmos Atabor, Collins Musa, Seidu Amodu, Ademola Bello and Dahiru Ahmed are to serve as members with Muhammed Bello as Secretary.
The Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Folashade, Commissioners of Commerce and Industry, Gabriel Olofu as well as his Solid Minerals counterpart, Bashir Gegu are to appear before the ad-hoc committee.
