Kogi 2019: MACBAN endorses Gov Bello for another term in Kogi
OVER 30,000 members of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter have endorsed the aspiration of Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello for another term in office.
Just as the state government assured them that their well-being, security and aspiration would be topmost in Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration.
The National Organising Secretary, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Alhaji Aliyu Saleh, made the disclosure of the endorsement at a meeting of the association held in Lokoja on Saturday.
The National Organising Secretary, listed improved security for its members who have over the years been under constant attack from kidnappers and cattle rustlers as a reason for the endorsement, disclosed that the association and members under the present administration have witnessed a new lease of life.
He added that the present administration has offered a sense of belonging by appointing one of their members as special adviser, said this is first of its kind assuring that the association would stand by the governor in the November governorship election.
He added that the association also is endorsing the governor for belonging to the APC, an umbrella party, in which President Muhammadu Buhari is the leader and a member of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, reason why the association is endorsing the aspiration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
The Organising Secretary listed the provision of vaccination to their cattle Free of charge by the Gov. Yahaya Bello’s administration, as a further reason for their endorsement.
The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association promised a ‘ruga to ruga’ campaign for the governor ahead of the forthcoming November governorship election, describing him as a Fulani friendly governor.
In his remarks, Engr Abubakar Sadiq Ohere, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, described the endorsement as one in the right direction.
Aside from making security cardinal, the Commissioner said the governor has made fairness and equity his driving force assured that in no distant time, members of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association would be appointed as Commissioners and Council Chairmen in the state.
He described the economic importance of The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders as vital to the sustenance of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the state, described their support for Gov. Bello as one that would improve on their well-being.
He described the relationship of President Buhari and Gov. Bello as that of a father and son, urged them to continue in the support, assuring that their support would be rewarded in many ways especially as it has to do with the security of their lives and businesses.
