The immediate-past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has regained his freedom from the Kuje Minimum Custodial Centre in Abuja after fulfilling the bail conditions set by a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court.
The spokesperson for the FCT Command of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Adamu Duza, confirmed the development in a statement on Friday evening.
“He [Yahaya Bello] has been released after meeting the bail conditions. He was released this [Friday] evening,” Duza stated.

Duza further disclosed that the Controller of NCoS FCT, Ajibogun Olatubosun, was present to oversee Bello’s release, ensuring that all necessary protocols were followed to the letter.
It will be recalled that Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja, on December 14, ordered the remand of the politician in Kuje Correctional Centre, pending the perfection of the bail conditions granted to him.
