JUST IN: Gov Sule sacks all political appointees in Nasarawa

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has sacked all political appointees in his administration.

The governor announced the decision on Friday, February 7, during a valedictory session at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House. The affected officials include Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, and Personal Assistants.

Governor Sule appreciated their contributions to the state’s development and assured them that some might be re-appointed in different capacities.

Meanwhile, he swore in a new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barr. Labaran Magaji, the immediate past Commissioner and Attorney General of the state.

Others inaugurated include the Sole Administrator of Udege Development Area in Nasarawa Local Government, as well as the chairman and board members of the College of Education, Akwanga. The governor urged them to work hard in supporting his administration’s success.

Governor Sule, who had earlier in January dissolved the state executive council, also disclosed that he had submitted a list of 16 commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening.
