The leadership National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) has charged the state government to increase investment in the state education sector, in order to increase the pace of development in the state.
The outgoing National President of NAOSS, Hammed Oyelade, who stated this in Akure, the state capital, where Comrade Alade Temitope Tosin, emerged as the new Executive President of the students association.
The outgoing President said the state government should evolve policies that will guarantee adequate funding of its education sector.
Oyelade who commended the State government for investing massively in the educational sector and for also making life easy for the students of the state through prompt payment of bursaries and Scholarships.
According to him, some of the educational reforms introduced by the state government has been affecting the lives of the students positively.
He specially appreciated the state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his support for the education sector urging the new leadership of the association to cooperate with the government to help develop education in the state.
Speaking, the Chairman of the electoral committee, Timilehin Olowookere, described the election as peaceful and most credible elections in the history of the association, saying legitimate students of Ondo State origin from different parts of the country, participated in the election.
He listed the new executive to include, Oyesaanu Fayowole, as Senate President, Arafat Mohammed as Vice President, Agbeni Kehinde as General Secretary, Ajaman Dein Desmond as Assistant General Secretary, Ajisola Kehinde as Treasurer, Elijah Segun, as Financial Secretary, Ganiyu Yusuf as Public Relations Officer
Others include, Saliub Shina,Deputy Senate President, Oluloro Emmanuel as Clerk, Agboola Olakunle as Director of Special Duties, Olasegiri Bode,Director of Sports, Odunayo Folashade Adeniyi, Director of Socials and Ajayi Isreal Olusegun as Chief Whip.
While speaking, the newly elected National Executive President, Alade while delivering his acceptance speech, appreciated the students for the peaceful election, promising to give priority to the welfare of the the students.
He also promised to cooperate with the state government to ensure the welfarism of all Ondo State Students across the country.
Alade, a student of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, is a native of Idanre in Idanre local government area of the state.
