Ogun State governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Rotimi Paseda has said that his administration if elected, will revamp the economy of the state through adequate support for the Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises (MSMEs).
Speaking at Ogun West end of the year party in Atan, Ota at the weekend, Paseda expressed his intentions to transform the state to a real megacity, stressing that the state deserves better than what it is getting from the Ibikunle Amosun-led administration.
He also disclosed that his administration would provide a minimum of 3,000 Megawatts of power within four years.
According to him, the availability of electricity would enhance the productivity of artisans who come to the state from neighbouring Lagos State.
Paseda said: “The economy is driven by Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises (MSMEs). First, we will look at education and then look at ways to support entrepreneurs. Also, the ease of doing business will be addressed.”
While stating that his administration would focus on three main sectors including education, health and economy, Paseda reiterated that he will make primary education free for all in the state.
According to him, primary education is one of the key factors which can boost the state’s economy.
At the party which was massively attended by youths, the governorship candidate also disclosed that his administration would provide free recreation centres across the three senatorial districts in the state.
“As long as education is free and parents don’t have to pay for their children’s school fees, such money can be annex on their businesses.
“There will be recreation gardens for fun seekers to visit which will reduce the mad rush to Lagos and improve on the IGR of the state,” Paseda said.
Meanwhile, his running mate, Okanlomo Musiliu Akinogun pointed out that their administration would be an inclusive one, adding that women will be well represented.
