Tell us what inspired your decision to become an entertainer.
I have been a lover of art from my secondary school days, I once coordinated a drama group when I was much younger and I always feel some extra fulfilment within my spirit at the sight of people smiling and laughing whenever they see us perform, coupled with their desire to get more from us. Nothing makes me happier than seeing people happy and I believe that is what entertainment is all about.
What have you been doing lately?
I have been silently working on myself. I have been studying and majorly, working on my biggest project of the year which is my Spartacus comedy and fashion concert coming up on Democracy day June 12 at JOGOR centre in Ibadan.
What is your assessment of the entertainment industry, especially the comedy industry in nigeria.
Entertainment is a huge industry around the world and it is one of the best things that has happened in Nigeria. Entertainment is evolving by the day and I am glad to be a part of the process. The comedy industry is one that has grown to become a welcomed business in Nigeria unlike what it used to be; comedians are now multi millionaires and it has become a craft to be proud of.
You have decided to hold your concerts in ibadan, why?
My brand is a very promising brand, I don’t have to stage a show in Lagos to be heard. I have my fans and friends all over. But I have just decided to bring them together annually in Ibadan. That doesn’t stop me from handling events in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt or elsewhere. Thank God for social media, location is no longer a limiting factor to greatness if you understand how to utilise it well.
You are a graduate, don’t you regret dumping your academic certificate for comedy?
Education is one of the best things that have happened to me. I did not dump my certificates; in fact, I am currently on my second degree in Computer Science despite the fact that I had my first degree in Electrical Electronics Engineering. Even though I have never used my certificate to seek for job anywhere, the confidence and value it adds to me is awesome. When you are educated, you see life differently and we all need that light called education.
What has been your greatest challenge as a comedian?
Life is full of challenges, the greatest challenge I face every day is how to be better than I was the day before.
You are a comedian, music artiste, event compere, broadcaster and an events planner. How do you manage it all?
I am a rare specie (smiles), I have all these talents in me and I always wish I could put them all out someway somehow. Basically, I enjoy myself when I do these things so I am not bothered.
Tell us about your previous projects as an entertainer.
As a comedian, I have planned and hosted seven editions of my annual comedy and fashion concert tagged ‘THE SPARTACUS’, I have anchored over 150 weddings as an event compere, written and produced five songs as a music artiste and I have planned over 20 major events as an event planner.
What advice would you give young entertainers and your fans?
I will like to advice my fellow young entertainers to be focused and serious with their craft, work hard and smartly too.
