Less than four days a police officer and three others were killed in Abraka Delta by herdsmen four persons were on Friday shot dead in a renewed attack by another set of Fulani herdsmen in Ossiasa community in Ndokwa east of the state.
In what sources described as a reprisal attack on the community over the killing of their kinsmen recently, the heavily armed herdsmen were said to have stormed Ossiasa village blocking the Ogwashi-uku/Kwale express way in the early hours of yesterday.
Traffic was held for hours as motorist and traders traveling from the southern part of the state and those in the opposite direction had to park their vehicles.
The sporadic shooting of the herdsmen were however countered by youths from the community, just as villagers had to run into the bush for safety.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer DSP Andy Aniemeke no arrest was made as at the time of filing this report adding that the situation has been brought under control following reinforcement of security operatives.
Aniemeke said he could not confirm the death of four persons as the command was waiting for the update of the crises.
