Help! I’m in a fix

Published by

Dear Yemisi,

I am a 45-year-old man, a former marketer with a big company now making efforts to be self-employed.

I got married some 13 years ago before I lost my job. The union is blessed with three beautiful girls. There was no problem when I was working and we had the very good things of life. But there was a turn of events when I lost my job over six years ago.

Having lost my money-spinning job, I consulted some of my very good and consistent distributors for assistance who were women. This decision of mine was not to the knowledge of my wife who has been very supportive of me even right from day one of our marriage. She has done well to the extent that my children lacked nothing.

Hardly will anybody know that I no longer have regular means of livelihood from the looks of my children. Along the line, I fell in love with some of these benefactors of mine. After realising where I was coming from, I decided to tactically call the relationship quits with all of them except one who I am strongly emotionally attached to.

Every attempt of mine to call it quits with her has proved abortive. To her, she is of the view that I am still single. She has been on my neck for some time now to take her to my parents and other stakeholders for the informal introduction which I have severally resisted.

She only called me some two weeks ago that she has taken in and that the pregnancy test she had revealed that she is twelve weeks pregnant! Of course there is no denying the fact that I have always had sex with her and I have no reason to doubt her sincerity for me.

I never put on a volte face but pleaded with her to have the pregnancy aborted as I was not prepared to have two wives counsellors have a child out of wedlock. All my pleas have fell on deaf ears.

I don’t know what to do now because my wife is not in the know that I have committed a serious offence out of wedlock by impregnating another lady who is bent on following me to my parents. To this adamant lady, I am still single or better still a single parent.

I am now in a fix. I don’t know what to do now, one; my family is too precious to me and I love this lady of mine. How will I solve this riddle before the situation gets out of hand?

Dear Yemisi, time is of essence as I have held this burning issue close to my heart for too long.

Please, I need the counsel of your readers and yours before I make the mistake of my life.

Chris.
