People suspected to be gunmen troubling South-Eastern Nigeria has set ablaze the Headquarters of Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Some residents in the area have said that the attack may have been carried out in the wee hours of Wednesday night.
They said people are currently living in fear due to the incident.
It was not certain what might have led the hoodlums to set the local government headquarters on fire.
Reacting on the incident, the National coordinator of APGA Media Warriors, Evang Chinedu Obigwe, said the general public should ignore the trending fake news report insinuating that Nnewi South local government Secretariat was completely burnt down.
According to him, I will describe the incident that happened at Nnewi South local government Secretariat as an arson perpetrated on a small building close to the gate of the Secretariat by cowards.
The local government Secretariat building was not affected.
This act of arson of a small building in the local government was perpetrated by criminals but they should have it at the back of their mind that Governor Soludo is not in Anambra to joke and for that reason he will not spare them.
Acts of criminality cannot be condoned in Anambra State under Governor Soludo’s administration.
He will leave no stone unturned to ensure that criminal elements are completely flushed out from Anambra.
The criminals behind the arson of a small building in Nnewi South local government Secretariat must be told in plain language that those who make peaceful change impossible makes violent change inevitable.
Nobody should complain when Governor Soludo apply the use of maximum force to fight criminal elements in our beloved State.
Governor Soludo want to restore the economy of our State and he is determined to actualize his transformation agenda in our State for the benefit of ndi Anambra.
As for the 4th April deadline that he gave for commencement of work and business activities in Anambra every Monday, it is sacrosanct and ndi Anambra must comply to that his directive for the restoration of our State economy.
Since Governor Soludo issued the directive for an end to the senseless Monday sit at home being observed in Anambra and other Southeast States, the authentic leadership of IPOB has not countered the directive and that is to say that they are in support of his decision.
One thing ndi Anambra must have at the back of their mind is that the Solution to our problem is here with us and it will soon be a thing of the past, he added.
Confirming the incident to Nigerian Tribune, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, said the Council Headquarters has been condoned off by the Police operatives and the State firefighter are also deployed there to control the situation. He promised to update the media more on the development, later.
