WORRIED by the lingering crisis in the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a socio-political group, the Reformed Oghomwan Mandate has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to call the national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to order.
In an open letter to the President Buhari which dated 14th November 2019 and made available to journalists in Benin, the group said that they wrote in order “to preserve the fragile peace in Edo State and save the polity from degenerating into a foreseeable collapse.”
The letter which was signed by the director, Mr. George Osagie Osaghae and titled: “Taming an emerging Terror in Adams Oshiomhole”, he demanded the sack of the APC chairman.
Osaghae accused the police headquarters in Abuja of being a willing tool in the hands of Oshiomhole.
Making a veiled reference to some suspected thugs who were recently arrested and taken to Abuja for attacking Oshiomhole, the petitioner lamented that he was still trying to figure out who is next in the deadly list of people to be kidnapped or whisked by the police only to Abuja.
Continuing, Osaghae said the ex-national chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie Oyegun did not cause crisis in the state during his tenure when Oshiomhole was governor of the State.
He said: “Governor Godwin Obaseki provided the backbone at the State level for Adams Oshiomhole to emerge as National chairman of APC,
“Ironically, since his (Oshiomhole) emergence as National Chairman, Edo State has become the Igbo metaphoric import of NGIGE, the bird that climbed a shaking rope, neither the bird nor the rope will have peace.
“The crisis that Adams Oshiomhole shamelessly caused in Edo State led to a fatality of national opprobrium and save for the grace of God and Edo ancestors, either the Oba of Lagos or Governor Godwin Obaseki would have been gruesomely brutally assaulted in his private residence at Iyamho.”
