Governorship aspirant donates party secretariat to Kwara APC

A 2019 governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara state and the president of the Gobir Foundation, Waziri Yakubu Gobir, has donated an ultra modern secretariat to the party in the state as part of the commitment to ensure victory in the forthcoming general elections.

It is recalled that emergence of factions in the APC in Kwara state had brought about two separate party secretariats, as the executive committee led by Ishola Balogun-Fulani retains old party secretariat, while Bashir Bolarinwa faction had operated from a temporary secretariat.

In a statement by the president of the Gobir organisation, made available to journalists in Ilorin at the weekend, Gobir said that the building was donated as part of the organisation’s contribution to the success of the party in the forthcoming elections in the state.

He said that the building, located at Number six, Asa Road, GRA Ilorin, will serve as the new secretariat of the party in the state, adding that it would enhance a smooth running of its activities.

The Presidential Support Committee of the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari recently appointed Waziri Yakubu Gobir as the Patron of Buhari support organisation in an appointment letter signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President (Political) and Presidential Committee Facilitator, Rt. Hon. Gideon Sammani.
