Gombe Deputy Governor, Manassah Daniel Jatau, on Friday, inspected the ongoing construction of the second Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Degri Ward, Balanga Local Government Area.
The project is part of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s pledge to establish two Primary Health Centres in each of the 114 Wards across the State —totaling 228 PHCs—aimed at improving grassroots access to quality healthcare services.
While inspecting the facility at Gurma, Manassah Jatau expressed satisfaction with the standard and pace of the work commended the contractors for their dedication, and assured residents of timely completion of the project.
“This initiative is a demonstration of our administration’s resolve to bring healthcare closer to the people, especially in rural communities.”Dr. Jatau said.
The Deputy Governor further emphasised the universal benefit of the facility, saying, “Hospitals are not built for a select few nor for residents alone. They are meant to serve everyone, including those on transit It is our duty to ensure that no one is left behind when it comes to access to healthcare.”
He inspected while returning from Taraba State International Investment Summit in the company of the Commissioner for Trade, Industry and Tourism, Alhaji Nasiru Mohammed Aliyu, and Mr. Ukasha Hussaini, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical Matters who represented the Executive Secretary, Gombe State Investment Promotion Agency,( GOSIPA) Faruk Ibrahim Daudu at the Summit.
They inspected various sections of the facility, including the Doctor and Nurse Quarters, Out-Patient Department (OPD), Labour Room, and administrative offices, amongst others.
