Globacom, a worthy partner of Ojude Oba festival ― Osinusi

ojude oba, OsinusiTHE Ojude Oba Festival Committee, on Monday, commended Globacom Telecommunication limited, as a worthy partner of the annual Ojude Oba Festival in Ijebu -Ode

This was made known by the chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Wahab Osinusi, while addressing the press on the 2018 edition of the festival, with the theme “Ojude Oba: Celebration of rich cultural heritage”, held at the Awujale’s Palace, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

He said that the company over the years had not relented in supporting traditional institutions and cultures to preserve the heritage of Ijebu people.

Osinusi added that the company had added more goodies to the event, as a major sponsor with the introduction of a raffle draw with a star prize of a brand new car.

The chairman flanked by other members of the committee which include, Chief Olu Okuboyejo, Alhaji Agboola Alausa, Chief Fassy Yusuf and Chief (Mrs) Bisi Osibogun, also said that the company being the major sponsor would be awarding prizes to the winners of equestrian parade and different age grades parade.

Osinusi added that the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki would be the Special Guest of Honour for this year’s edition.

Asked on the choice of Saraki, Yusuf, said the Senate President was adjudged worthy of chairing the event, submitting that the festival has nothing to do with politics of the nation.

” Ojude Oba has nothing to do with politics of the land. The choice of Saraki was made before the unfolding event in the political system of the nation. He is invited as a Nigerian and has been adjudged worthy to grace the annual festival,” he added.

The Head of Marketing Communications Lagos/Ogun Region of Globacom, Afolabi Otufowora, congratulated the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Kayode Adetona, for using the festival to address issues relevant to the development of Ijebuland and the state in general.

Otufowora explained that the company had upscale its contributions to the festival with winners emerging and rewarded in a promo to make the event worthwhile.

“As a proudly iconic Nigerian company, Globacom has been supporting major festivals in the country since inception to preserve our unique cultural heritage and cherished values.


I want to reassure all Nigerians that the company will continue to fulfil its brand promise of providing affordable and reliable telecom services to Nigerians.

The theme of this year’s celebration, “Celebration of rich cultural heritage” is very apt and we will do our utmost best to continue to amplify this great heritage,” he said further.
