A total of 150 commanders from various Islamic aid groups and volunteers, under the leadership of the Jama’atul Nasir Islam (JNI), have been trained for effective Eid celebration coordination during the forthcoming Eid-El-Fitr Salah.
The training, a “train-the-trainers” programme, was organised and facilitated by a Bauchi-based organisation, Wunti Al-Khair Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to uplifting communities through humanitarian and empowerment initiatives.
The disclosure was made by the organisation during a press conference addressed by the Director of Programmes, Ango Mustapha.
According to him, “Recognising the importance of safety and organisation during Eid, the Foundation has trained volunteers in crowd control strategies, traffic management, emergency response preparedness, and the role of volunteerism.”
Ango Mustapha stressed that, “These measures are crucial for maintaining order, ensuring security, and fostering a peaceful atmosphere for worshippers.”
He added that the volunteers, who are in their thousands, will be trained by the commanders, after which they will be deployed to all the Eid prayer grounds within Bauchi metropolis, with specific focus and attention on the central Eid ground along Gombe Road.
He further stated that the organisation, guided by the principles and values of its Chairman and Founder, Dr Bala Wunti—compassion, generosity, and social responsibility—has, over the years, provided sustainable interventions that improve lives, foster unity, and promote development.
According to him, “As part of our annual Ramadan Support Programme, we have implemented several impactful initiatives aimed at ensuring that the less privileged, fasting Muslims, and the broader Bauchi community experience the blessings of Ramadan with dignity and ease.”

Ango Mustapha stated that key initiatives under the Ramadan Support Programme included rice distribution. As part of its ongoing efforts to combat hunger and food insecurity, the Foundation distributed over 20,000 bags of rice across the 20 LGAs in Bauchi State.
The initiative ensured that families had access to essential food supplies throughout Ramadan. Additionally, the Foundation provided over 3,000 cooked meals daily to fasting Muslims in various communities across Bauchi, offering nourishment to those in need and fostering a spirit of communal support.
Furthermore, in acts of random kindness to complement structured distributions, the Foundation engaged in spontaneous acts of generosity, ensuring that those often overlooked—such as street workers, security personnel, and Muslim students in Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, and the College of Education Kangere—as well as individuals with special needs, felt valued and supported.
The Foundation also created a unique opportunity for over 200 children to participate in Quran recitation (Daura) at the Eid ground during Ramadan—an initiative aimed at encouraging young Muslims to deepen their connection with the Holy Quran. Additionally, food was provided for them and other members of the Muslim ummah around the Filin Idi community.
In the spirit of Eid, the organisation is distributing thousands of new clothes to the less privileged, ensuring that many individuals, especially children, can celebrate with dignity and joy.
To enhance the spiritual experience of Ramadan, the Foundation has sponsored the broadcast of Quranic Tafsirs by esteemed Islamic scholars across major radio and TV stations, ensuring that many individuals, including those who may not have access to physical gatherings, can benefit from valuable Islamic teachings.
He added that, “Additionally, as a token of appreciation, we have extended support to those who dedicate their time and efforts to serving others during Sallah, ensuring they can also observe the celebrations with ease.”
“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our volunteers, agents, and ambassadors whose unwavering support made this programme a success.”
He also commended the media for “amplifying our message and ensuring that stories of kindness and impact reach far and wide. Your role in helping us sensitise members of the public against fraudsters wrongfully collecting money from members of the public to be eligible to benefit from the Foundation’s initiatives has been invaluable.”
He concluded, “As we reflect on this month of mercy, Wunti Al-Khair Foundation remains committed to sustained humanitarian efforts beyond Ramadan. Together, we can build a society where kindness is a daily practice, not just a seasonal gesture.”
