Anambra State Government has commenced distribution of drugs and other health care materials to flood disaster holding centres across the state.
The Anambra State Government through the Ministry of Health began the tour with Ogbaru Local Government Area, which has over three thousand affected persons across all the holding centres in the Local Government Area.
Speaking while presenting the drugs and other materials at the Ogbaru Local Government Holding Center Atani, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala noted that the essence was to ensure that they remain healthy reassuring that the state government is committed to ensuring that every citizen of the state has access to quality health care.

The Commissioner revealed that a team of doctors and nurses who are specialists in different areas of medical practice have been assigned to care for the people in the centres.
Receiving the materials, the Transition Chairman Ogbaru Council Area, Mr Arinzechukwu Awogu, noted that no death has been recorded this year and attributed it to the proactive measures taken by the state government in responding to the flood incidents and victims.
He commended the Anambra State Government for a quick response with relief materials through the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA and assured of providing every necessary assistance towards ensuring that the objective of the state government is achieved.
