Fire razes Kola Olootu’s house, newly equipped studio

The house and newly equipped studio of ace radio presenter, Kola Olootu, was gutted by fire Monday afternoon and was burnt to ashes.
Olootu, a Yoruba programme presenter with Fresh Fm, Ibadan, Oyo State, blamed the inferno at his Oluyole, Ibadan residence, where his studio was also situated on high voltage of electricity.
He said he suffered a great loss on the destruction of his multi-million naira studio with new set of equipment, he recently brought from United States, as everything he said was burnt totally to ashes.
According to him, “the fire outbreak started around 2:00pm, Monday afternoon.
He said he was not around as at the time of the incident, but only got wind of it when he was alerted from home.


Olootu said it was only his gate guard who was at home that perceived the smell of smoke which led him to the apartment where the fire started from.
He said it was after this he immediately him, but at that time he was very far away from home.
Olootu commended the efforts of his neighbours and the fire service who were able to put off the fire and stopped it from extending to other buildings.
