An eye witness who was at the scene of the fire incident told Tribune Online that the fire incident started at about 5 pm.
The fire escalated when a gas cylinder in the house exploded, resulting in the increase of the fire which gutted the two flats in the top floor of the two-storey building.
The effort by Fire Service officials, who arrived the scene of the fire incident on time, reduced the impact of the fire from spreading to other floors of the building.
It will be recalled that buildings and vehicles were burnt in the recent Abule Egba Pipeline fire explosion and just yesterday, seven buildings were gutted by fire at Balogun Market, Lagos Island, as fire incidence in Lagos State is becoming a regular occurrence.
