IN line with the livestock transformation agenda and economic diversification of the present administration in the country, the Federal Government of Nigeria has inaugurated Project Delivery Team (PDT) for the commercialisation of vaccine production facility of the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI).
While inaugurating the team in Abuja, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Mohammed Umar, said effort by the team to commercialise vaccine is a welcomed development.
Umar noted that the mandate of the team is to draw up a transactional proposal, consider the legal implication of the transaction and develop terms of reference for a transaction advisor, among others.

He commended the current management of the institute for strengthening the commercialisation process of the vaccine production facility by incorporating a company called Vom Biological Products Ltd.
Umar also commended the former Minister, Audu Ogbe, who got the support of Propcom Mai-Karfi, a DFID-funded NGO to fund feasibility study for the commercialisation of the vaccine production facility.
He urged the team to be transparent in the execution of its mandate while following due process and timely delivery.
Head of Urban Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Agency, Mr. Busari Olusa, who spoke on behalf of the team, said the PDT members would work to ensure that the project was successfully executed.
