THE Polish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mrs. Joanna Tarnawska, has commended the Federal Government for appointing women in good positions in the scheme of things.
She made the commendation when she paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, in his office in Abuja.
Tarnawska said she was highly impressed to see women occupying key positions in the power echelon of the country.

She intimated the minister that she was the first Polish woman Ambassador to Nigeria, pointing out that the two countries had a lot to learn from each other in various facets of life, particularly science and technology.
Earlier, the minister said Nigeria was making efforts to transit from a commodity-based to a knowledge and innovation-driven economy.
He said his ministry was the arrowhead of this transition through its innovative research outputs.
Dr Onu extolled the beneficial relationship between Nigeria and Poland, adding that the relationship should be sustained for mutual benefits.
“I believe both nations can cooperate in so many areas and indeed focus on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) and the result of the cooperation will be beneficial to the destinies of our respective countries,” Dr Onu said.
