THE Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice of Osun State,u Mr Ajibola Basir, has been described as a true blood of Odofin family of Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
It will be recalled that Basiru’s lineage was reportedly questioned on September 1, 2017 at the Eid Praying Ground, Okebale, Osogbo a development that raised a dust in political circles and became an issue of debate in the parts of the state.
The Odofin of Osogbo, Chief Akin Opatunde, said this after he had presided over family meeting in the compound located at N0 12, Ibokun Road, pointing out that only bad parents would keep mute in the face of the alleged taint on the integrity of Basiru.
Opatunde explained that the first meeting point for all Odofins (Aruru) started from Basiru’s great-grand-father’s site before further expansion to its present location in the compound.
“I am authenticating our son’s identity to clear the air on the recent embarrassment meted out to him. The commissioner is my son and that fact is unchangeable. The sons and daughters of Odofin are known for their accommodating attitude as well as lovers of peace. This we shall continue to maintain for the interest of Osogbo and Osun State,” he said.
Chief Opatunde also urged Osogbo indigenes to remain calm as the Council of Elders is already working on forging a more united Osogbo devoid of political segregation.
