The United Front (TUF), a group within the Oyo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Wednesday, called for sanction on leaders of the Unity Forum over the alleged release of fake delegate lists for the party’s state congress rescheduled for Saturday, October 23, 2021, as well as fake ward congress results.
TUF alleged that thorough investigations by the National Secretariat of the party would reveal that some elders of the party, who currently hold key positions in government, are responsible for the forged results of the party’s ward and local congresses in the state.
The group’s coordinator, Hon Bello Razaq, expressed disappointment over the circulation of fake delegate lists by loyalists of the leaders of Unity Forum online, urging teeming members of APC to discountenance the invented results of the ward and local congresses.
He stated that only the APC national secretariat has the constitutional powers to announce results of congresses, reiterating that, “we are calling on the National Secretariat of our great party to wield the big stick on erring members irrespective of their position as they are not only hell-bent on destroying our party but also acting in total disregard to constituted authorities of the party.
“In line with Section 21 of the APC constitution, the Unity Forum leaders have committed grave offences and are liable to face sanctions. Governor Mai-Mala Buni-led APC CECPC must activate all disciplinary measures against the erring leaders in order to serve as deterrence to others in future,” TUF said.
TUF threatened to drag the leaders of the party’s Unity Forum to court for conspiracy and forgery if the national secretariat of the party fails to act on the perpetrated Illegalities.
It will be recalled that Governor Mai Mala Buni-led APC Caretaker Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) abruptly suspended the October 16th State Congress of the party in Oyo state due to alleged forging of documents meant for the exercise and other irregularities.
