FACCO West Africa, a renowned agricultural equipment manufacturer, has entered into partnership with Wemton Agricultural Development Company, to encourage Nigerians to own a portable poultry farm in their various houses.
Speaking with the Nigerian Tribune on the new initiative, Assistant Executive Director, FACCO West Africa, Abimbola ‘Layo-Ogunyale, said the initiative is targeted towards encouraging every household to own a portable poultry in the backyard of their house.
“We feel at this point when the economy of the country is in a dwindling situation, there is the need for people to think outside the box by engaging in portable poultry running. This we believe will boost food supply, increase employment and also increase youth and women engagement in poultry farming. The role we are playing in this campaign is the supply of equipment and inputs.”
Also speaking on the new campaign, Dr Tony Wemton of Wemto Agriculture Development Company, said the partnership with FACCO West Arica will bring about the needed transformation in the Nigerian puoltry value chain. “To make this initiative a productive one, we as a company are expected to train people and set up farms.”
