Ex-YOWICAN chairman credits Tinubu policies for CAN youth achievements

Published by

Former National Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Belusochukwu M. Enwere, has attributed the organisation’s growth and achievements during his five-year tenure to policies introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Enwere made the remarks during a thanksgiving and reception ceremony marking the completion of his tenure from 2021 to 2026. The event was held at Maria Mater Ecclesia in Mbaise, Imo State.

Reflecting on his time in office, the former chairman described the period as one of growth and impact for the Christian youth organisation, noting that YOWICAN had expanded its activities and empowered young people across the country.

According to him, the Federal Government’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” created an enabling environment for youth participation and leadership development.

“I begin with deepest reverence and appreciation to the First Family of our great nation. To His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, your Renewed Hope Agenda has been the wind beneath our wings,” Enwere said.

He also acknowledged the support of Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, whom he described as a grand patroness of the organisation, saying her support contributed to the implementation of several youth programmes.

Enwere further commended Hope Uzodimma, governor of Imo State, for backing his emergence and leadership of the organisation.

In addition, he expressed appreciation to Seyi Tinubu for what he described as encouragement and support to Christian youth initiatives during his tenure.

The former YOWICAN leader also thanked the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for their guidance and institutional support.

He noted that collaboration between religious institutions and youth groups played a key role in strengthening faith-based youth engagement and promoting unity among young Nigerians.

Enwere said the programmes implemented during his tenure had helped empower thousands of young Christians and strengthen the organisation’s presence nationwide.

He expressed optimism that the initiatives launched during his leadership would continue to benefit young people and contribute to national development.
