Ex-minister preaches re-branding, attitudinal change

The nation’s first lady cabinet minister, Chief (Mrs) Adenike Oyagbola, has charged Nigerians on attitudinal change and to engage in acts that would positively impact on the nation’s image.

Speaking after being decorated with an award by the Professional Excellence Foundation of Nigeria (PEFON), in Lagos, over the weekend, the former Nigerian Ambassador to the United Mexican States attributed  the current challenge the nation was presently facing to dishonesty and corrupt practices on the part of the leaders and the led, adding that  if such practices could be curbed, Nigeria would be a better place to be.

She expressed delight at the award, noting that such would go a long way in teaching the younger ones that hard work pays.

“For me, I think the only challenge we have in the country today  are that of corruption and our attitude, both on the path of the leaders and the followers, and I have that strong belief that once we are able to fix these problems the country would be a better place,” she stated.

Speaking at the event, the founder of the Foundation, Dr Dipo Bailey stated that the awardees were being honoured in fulfillment of one of the Foundation’s key objectives of identifying Nigerian professionals and recognising those that had excelled in their chosen professions.

He explained that the Foundation comprising of eminent Nigerians, who had distinguished themselves in their chosen professions, was set up to recognise individuals who had established conglomerates, and at the same time raise a scholarship fund to assist the young ones to become professionally qualified.
