Ex-DC Prisons, 6441 others defect to APC in Yabo, Bodinga LGs of Sokoto State

 

In continuation of the mass movement into the All Progressives Congress ( APC ), in Sokoto State,  a former Deputy Controller of Nigerian Prisons Service, Alhaji Umaru Yari Sifawa, and 6441 other members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Wednesday defected to the APC.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,  Bashir Rabe Mani,  Dan Masanin Mani and issued to newsmen in Sokoto.

The statement said that the new entrants into the APC were received into the fold of the party by its leader in the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,  during the flag off of its campaigns in Yabo and Bodinga towns, headquarters of Yabo, as well as Bodinga Local Governments of the state, respectively.

In Bodinga, 3155 members of the PDP defected to the APC,  including the retired Deputy Controller of Prisons, Alhaji Umaru Yari Sifawa and a former Speaker, Bodinga Local Government,  Alhaji Bello Dandari, among others.

Sifawa said they joined the APC sequel to the justice and equity prevalent in it, as well as the tangible achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He urged their former colleagues remaining in the PDP to immediately defect to the APC,  ” before it is too late .”

In Yabo, 3287 members of the PDP,  trooped into the APC, also citing the excellent performances of President Muhammadu Buhari and Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

All the defectors in the two local governments vowed to relentlessly work to ensure the success of APC Candidates, at all levels, during the forthcoming general polls.

The Chairman of the State Campaign Council,  Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi,  its Secretary,  Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Sifawa, as well as the State Chairman of the party,  Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida,  all assured the defectors of justice and fairness, just like the other older, members of the party.

The trio expressed optimism that, APC is the party to beat across Nigeria, adding, ” we are sure that all our candidates will emerge victorious during the forthcoming polls, In Sha Allahu. ”

Also speaking, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,  who also represents Sokoto North Senatorial District,  expressed happiness with the tremendous show of sustainable love and support to the party by the generality of the people of the state.

Senator Wamakko also said,” I am truly and sincerely overwhelmed with the mammoth crowds of our supporters I have seen in the two local governments. It is heartwarming that,  the party is united and strong in the two areas. ”


He again alerted husbands and Heads of families in the state about the nefarious activities of some unscrupulous members of the Peoples Democratic Party,  going around the state, buying off the Permanent Voter Cards  (PVCs), of mostly women.

The Chieftain of the APC further admonished,  ” their main aim is to buy off these cards, likely desperate politicians who have lost confidence in themselves.

Also speaking, the Gubernatorial candidate and his running mate, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu and Honourable Faruk Malami Yabo, vowed to take the state back to the era of massive infrastructural development as was witnessed during Wamakko administration.

They promised to be up and doing in delivering dividends of democracy to the people of the state under the APC administration.
