It was a day of honour as gospel music veteran-cum cleric, Pastor Jospeh Adelakun, popularly known as Ayewa, had the musicians and top Christian leaders paying visit to his residence to rejoice with him as he clocks 70.
The low-key event, which according to the celebrant was just as tip of the iceberg for a major celebration, became a carnival-like as top clerics from various denominations, gospel musicians and actors celebrated him.
R gathered that the celebrant in the early hours of Tuesday received blessings from the General Overseer of the Living Spring Church, Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, and was later celebrated by his close associates and family members in his studio.
The event also featured several testimonies and impacts the ‘Amona’ crooner, made on guests, as several people could not resist pouring encomiums on the celebrant.
According to the chairman of the 70th birthday committee, Pastor Tunde Kajogbola, plans have commenced to roll out the drums for the celebration of the distinguished cleric and music icon later in the year.
He said: “Baba Ayewa’s 70th birthday committee has commenced a solid plan to celebrate him. He deserves it and we are ready to give our to hold a classy celebration to mark his 70th birthday on September 21 at 10 Degree Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos. What we did today was just to gather to bless and pray for the celebrant; the main event is coming and it will be a bigger one.”
Some of the celebrities that graced the event include, music legend, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, who was represented by his son, Bishop Folarin Obey; Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Iya Rainbnow.
