Emirship tussle: Don’t allow your children be used for violence in Kano, Group urges parents

An association under the aegis of Kano Concerned Citizens (KCC) has called on parents in Kano state to be wary and guard their children not to be used as an instrument by desperate politicians, to foment trouble and cause mayhem in the ongoing emirship tussle which has polarised the state

This was just as the KCC commended the Kano State Police Command, under CP Mohammed Gumel, for his professionalism in handling the tussle.

Speaking at a press conference, the  group’s secretary, Comrade Muhammad Auwal Shuaibu, said that these disgruntled politicians who are  now using  innocent children as “political thugs ” have their own children schooling abroad

According to him, “Parents should warn their children to steer clear of the ongoing Emirates tussle.

“This is particularly sad because their children are safely schooling in the best schools outside the country, why would children of the masses be used by these disgruntled politicians to achieve their ulterior motive,” he queried.

While commenting on the way the state Commissioner of Police has been handling the security in the ongoing emirate crisis, Comrade Shuaibu said that identifying with the position of the law, is the highest form of dedication to duty, even when faced with the threat by the State Government.

However, on the issue of the order for demolition of the Nasarawa Palace of Emir Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, by the state government, comrade Shuaibu concluded that “it has proven that the State government has a knack for, and is synonymous with destruction of properties.”

The KCC however called on the Inspector General of Police and other security outfits in the country to as a matter of serious national security, caution the NNPP leader and former Kano State Governor.

He said “It is sad such a leader could make unguarded utterances which has grave implications on both Kano and national security. Kano and indeed the entire country is greater than any individual.

“His baseless claims and allegations that the federal government and APC are breeding a band of new Boko Haram, is not only saddening but goes to show how shallow and petty he could be in order to score cheap political goals, especially among his supporters.

Speaking in the same vein, the co-convener of the group, Amb. Abdullahi D Mohammad, said, “The needless and unnecessary tension in the state, exacerbated by utterances of Sen. Kwankwaso and his ilks is disheartening, given that he has amongst his support base, individuals who believed in him.”
