Emirates set to employ over 1,500 pilots by 2027

Emirates, the Dubai-based airline, is on a hiring spree, announcing plans to employ over 1,500 new pilots within the next two years.

This move is part of the airline’s growth strategy, which aims to expand its operations and fleet.

According to a news release, Emirates will focus on hiring experienced pilots for roles in one of its four programs: Direct Entry Captains, Accelerated Command, First Officers Type Rated, and First Officers Non-Type Rated.

The airline has already onboarded nearly 2,000 new pilots since 2022 and is looking to hire over 550 pilots this year alone.

To achieve this goal, Emirates’ recruitment team will visit more than 40 cities around the world.

The airline’s president, Tim Clark, has expressed interest in growing Emirates’ presence in the U.S., despite frustrations with delayed Boeing 777X deliveries.

Emirates’ pilots operate a modern fleet of 261 widebody aircraft, including Airbus A380s, Boeing 777s, and the A350.

The airline flies to over 148 destinations across six continents, offering its pilots a competitive tax-free salary with profit-sharing benefits, a world-class provident fund, and retirement benefits.

Pilots also enjoy 42 annual leave days, tickets for family in first or business class, and luxurious perks, including chauffeur-driven cars and villas in gated communities.

The airline’s Accelerated Command program has been successful, with over 80 pilots benefiting from the program that fast-tracks first officers to the role of captain.
