Hyundai has announced a recall of more than 54,000 vehicles over electrical faults that could trigger a fire.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration posted a notice on May 15 showing that the South Korean automaker is recalling certain 2024-2026 Elantra Hybrid vehicles over concerns that the hybrid power control unit (HPCU) assembly may overheat, raising the risk of a fire.
A total of 54,337 vehicles are affected by the recall.
Hyundai is expected to mail notification letters to affected vehicle owners on July 13.
