THE leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife on Monday, were flown to India for medical treatment.
This move became necessary after a High Court sitting in Kaduna granted the IMN leader and his wife bail based on health issues.
The court also ruled that the medical trip would be supervised by the Nigerian government.
Confirming this to Tribune Online, the spokesperson of the IMN, Abdullahi Musa said the Sheikh and his wife would be flown to India for medical treatment.
He said, however, the Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA) took over the movement of the IMN and wife medical trip.
Recall that the Kaduna State Government after the court ruling said the government would not fund the medical trip of the Sheikh and his wife, IMN would fund it.
Tribune Online efforts to reach out to NIA proved abortive, as calls and message put across to them were not responded to or replied as at the time this story was filed.
