Ekiti varsity staff rapes 12-year-old own daughter

A staff of the Ekiti State University (EKSU) Ado-Ekiti, Mr Noel Davis has been arrested by men of the state police command for allegedly raping his 12-year-old secondary school daughter.

The suspect,52 who is a staff of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) unit of the university hails from Sierra Leone.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that the suspect was arrested after the minor confided in her school teacher during a lecture on sex education.

The school management consequently contacted the chairperson of the Federation of Women Lawyer (FIDA) in the state, Mrs Seyi Ojo who reported the incident to the police which led to the arrest.

When contacted, the Head, Directorate of Information & Corporate Affairs of EKSU, Bode Olofinmuagun told Nigerian Tribune that the suspect is a staff of the institution.

He noted that the university would await investigations from the police before taking a decision on the incident.

Confirming the arrest to our correspondent in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Caleb Ikechukwu noted that the suspect had been sexually molesting his daughter for over three years.

The PPRO who said the suspect had confessed to the crime, added that he would soon be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.

” The operatives of Ekiti State Police Command have arrested a Rape Suspect Davies Noel, 52 years old who had been having unlawful canal knowledge of his biological daughter of 12 years for over three (3) years. The suspect was arrested on the 29th of October, 2019.

” However, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime and will be charged to court upon conclusive investigation,” Ikechukwu said.
