Political stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ekamefa enclave of Ajoni Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ekiti State have endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji to continue leading the state until 2030.
The political heavyweights, operating under the banner of the Abejide Political Dynasty from the Ekamefa region and led by the Chairman of the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), Chief Alaba Abejide, said their decision was to reciprocate Oyebanji’s exemplary leadership and outstanding performance.
The unanimous endorsement was declared at a well-attended political gathering at the Ipao-Ekiti country home of Chief Abejide, with all key stakeholders and party members present.
Other prominent figures in the political movement include the Chairman of Ajoni LCDA, Hon Prince Michael Ogungbemi; former Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Dele Olugbemi; Technical Adviser to the Governor, Hon Muyiwa Olukosi; Senior Special Assistant on Agricultural Processing Zones, Pastor Kehinde Ajayi; and Special Assistant, Femi Andero, among others.
Moving the motion for endorsement, the Technical Adviser on Policy Evaluation, Hon Olukosi, cited Oyebanji’s impressive achievements, including the completion of the Ele bridge along Itapaji/Iyemero Road, the siting of an Agricultural Processing Zone in Ekamefa, the ongoing reconstruction of the Ayedun–Irele Road, support for rainstorm victims, and equitable political appointments to the Ekamefa axis.
The motion was seconded by the SSA on Agricultural Processing Zones, Mr Kehinde Ajayi.
Confirming the endorsement, the political leader, Chief Samuel Abejide, said the move was in appreciation of the governor’s benevolence and to seek further dividends for residents of the area.
“This is a reciprocation of Governor’s performance. But we are pleading that the governor should appoint a member of State Executive Council from this area. We are passionate about this, because our support here is total. We have a one party here in Ekamefa,” Abejide said.
Chairman of Ajoni LCDA and group leader, Michael Ogungbemi, commended the governor for his unwavering dedication to governance, stating that the community would repay him with votes in 2026.
He said, “We have never wavered in our support, we will never deviate from our progressive ways. We are with Chief Abejide, who is a strong supporter of Governor Oyebanji. When things were tough and rough, we delivered and I know that it will be easier this time.”
Ekamefa Central Coordinator, Afeez Adeyemo, noted that the region had always aligned with progressive politics and vowed to deliver overwhelming support in the next election.
Speaking on behalf of Ekamefa Teachers for Oyebanji, Mr Akinloye Romiluyi praised the governor for infrastructure developments and the promotion of graduate primary school teachers to level 16, stating these were major reasons behind their support.
In his acceptance message, Governor Oyebanji, represented by the Director-General of the Bureau of Community Communication, Mrs Mary Oso Omotoso, expressed appreciation for the wave of endorsements across Ekiti, describing them as a strong motivation to continue delivering impactful governance.
“Let me assure you, Governor Oyebanji will continue to serve you. This gathering shows how much love you have for his government. You know he has always been inclusive, nobody is neglected in this government. I know you have felt his impact in this axis.
