Eid-el-Fitr: Taraba ALGON felicitates Muslim Ummah

The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Taraba state chapter, has felicitated the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.

In a press statement by the ALGON chairman and Jalingo local government council chairman, Alh. Aminu Hassan Jauro, the association also appealed for peace among religious groups to attract unity and development in the state.

“As we reflect on the significance of this celebration for the Muslim Ummah worldwide, let us reaffirm our commitment to peaceful coexistence with our brothers and sisters of other faiths. It is essential that we continue to foster mutual respect, understanding, and tolerance among all religious communities for the development of Taraba State. By working together in harmony, we can build a more inclusive and prosperous society for generations to come.

“May the lessons and blessings of Ramadan continue to illuminate our hearts and guide us towards a path of righteousness and peace.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, as he witnesses his first Ramadan celebration in office. The presence and leadership style displayed during the holy month by the governor have undoubtedly inspired hope, unity, and progress within the Muslim community and beyond.

“We commend the governor’s commitment towards fostering harmony, understanding, and development in Taraba and pray Allah to continue to guide and bless him with wisdom, strength, and compassion to serve the people of Taraba state.

“We want the Muslim Ummah across the state to reflect on the profound significance of the spiritual journey in Islam as the sacred month of Ramadan and celebrate as stipulated. Ramadan has been a time of self-reflection, devotion, and renewal of faith. It is a period during which Muslims around the world strive for spiritual purification, seeking closeness to Allah through fasting, prayer, and acts of charity.

“You have fasted from dawn to dusk, refraining not only from food and drink but also from negative thoughts and behaviours, in obedience to Allah’s commandments. May you extend this good conduct even as we exit the month of Ramadan and continue with our daily lives,” Jauro, on behalf of ALGON, felicitated.
