As efforts are on to ensure a hitch-free 2023 Eid-El Kabir celebrations, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) operatives have been deployed all over the 20 Local government Areas of Bauchi State.
The Sector Command has, therefore, embarked on a one-week Special Operations for the 2023 Eid-El-Kabir Sallah Celebration in order to ensure a crash-free festival.
According to CC Yusuf Abdullahi, Sector Commander of FRSC, the Special Operations is to run between Monday, 26th June — 1 July 2023 and it will be a 24/7 operation during which 1,010 Officers and Men as well as Special Marshalls have been deployed including 400 Volunteers comprising Roads Safety Youth Islamic Groups.
The equipment and logistics deployed for the operations include 25 Vehicles and 20
Ambulances as support from the State Ministry of Health.
Also, 15 recovery Vans, 03 heavy recovery vans, 10 medium and 15 light vehicles as well as 5 extricating machines, 10 breathalyzer / alcoholizer machines and 400 manual have been deployed while 2 roadside Clinics will be operated.
The activities lined up for the special operations include aggressive public enlightenment as well as Motor park shows, religious Centres, Central Mosques, prayer grounds and Schools.
There will be collaboration with sister Security Agencies, Roads Transport Unions, Media. FERMA, Federal and State Ministry of Works and Housing, health service providers, Government and Private Hospitals and Clinics, Clergy and Traders as well as construction Companies.
The major focus of the special operations is road traffic crashes (RTC) reduction, free flow of traffic and clearing of all obstructions.
There will also be prompt response to RTC victims, adequate and effective Information Management, effective intelligent gathering, data collection and Analysis.
During the period of the operation, there will be enforcement, routine rescue standby. 24/7 in the Ambulance Service points on the Five Major Routes across the state.
Also, daily traffic offenders public enlightenment PE) will be sustained just as Mobile Court will be in session to prosecute offenders.
Furthermore, there will be flag off of RTC prone locations on the Five major routes.
